Grading work at Earlscourt Park, 1920. City of Toronto Archives.

Description

Grading at Earlscourt Park, 1920. After local petitioning, the City rented the Royce Estate for a park in 1916. They negotiated to purchase the property in 1919, but when this failed, the City passed a bylaw to expropriate the land. In 1920, Royce sold the land to the City.
