Description
Built in 1931 as a hockey arena, the Maple Leaf Gardens also hosted music concerts and other events. The building was formally recognized as a National Historic Site in 2007. In 2012, the building reopened with a grocery store and new athletic centre, named Mattamy after a corporate donor, developed in a partnership with Loblaw Companies and Toronto Metropolitan University.
