Description
Designed by Patrick Fahn and installed in Barbara Hall Park, the AIDS Memorial is a tribute to people from the community who have died of an AIDS-related illness. The Church-Wellesley Village was deeply affected by loss in the early years of the AIDS epidemic in the 1980s. Each June the AIDS Candlelight Vigil takes place at the AIDS memorial pictured here, which continues to evolve each year as new names are engraved and installed in advance of the vigil.
