Botanical illustration of a butternut tree
Description
Butternut trees are easily identified by their
leaves, which are arranged in a feather-like
pattern. They also produce a large barrel shaped
nut with a single seed, surrounded
by a light green, sticky, fuzzy husk that smells
like citrus when opened.
