Description
Allan Gardens stereoscopic photographs, c.1880s–1900s. The dual images created a basic 3D effect when viewed with a special device called a stereoscope.
The image is a stereoscopic photograph featuring the lush interior of a conservatory in Horticultural Park, Toronto, Canada. Dominated by vibrant green foliage, the scene includes large tropical leaves from plants such as banana trees and palms. Underneath the canopy of green, there are small potted plants arranged in a neat row. Among them, bright pink flowers provide a striking contrast to the green surroundings. The floor is paved and appears to be clean and orderly. A thin, patterned carpet runs across the tiled floor. The overall impression is one of a well-maintained indoor garden, abundant with tropical and flowering plants.
