Description

In the 1910s, the architectural firm of Darling & Pearson was hired to design a new North Toronto railway station for the Canadian Pacific Railway. The station replaced an older North Toronto station, which had become too small for the growing rail traffic in Toronto. Darling & Pearson designed the new station in a Beaux Arts style, punctuated by a 43-metre clock tower modeled after the Campanile de San Marco in Venice.
