Description
Associated with the furniture trade for more than a century, this Chicago-style building was designed in 1907 by architect Henry Simpson for the Home Furniture Carpet Co. Owned by John F. Brown, the company sold clothes, appliances, and furniture, such as complete
living room sets. In 1926, the building was extended westward, increasing the retail space. A bowling alley opened on the expanded second floor. Marty Millionaire, a furniture sales and rental business, operated here from 1978 to 2014. The building was renovated for WE Charity in 2017.
