Description
A large group poses in front of the Toronto Hydro electric substation built in 1916 on Carlaw Ave. to provide electricity for homes, businesses, and industries in this fast-growing part of the city. The building was greatly expanded in 1924 and 1929 and it remains an active electrical substation. The group was participating in a guided tour at the launch of Toronto's first Heritage Plaque District in the Dundas and Carlaw area.
