Description
Illustration postcard of Old City Hall. Designed by E.J. Lennox in the Richardsonian Romanesque style, characterized by rough sandstone, and was meant to be both a municipal building and courthouse. Built in 1898, it was once the largest municipal building in North America, cost over $2 million to build, and took over 10 years to complete.
