Description
A tour group stands in front of St. Michael's Cathedral Basilica.
St Michael’s is the oldest surviving Catholic church building in Toronto. It was built in the Gothic Revival style under the direction of Bishop Michael Power, who died 10 months before it was completed and consecrated. It became a basilica in late 2016.
Recently, it’s undergone massive renovation and restoration work, which has involved digging a full lower level chapel below the standing church.
