Description
On the former site of Sam the Record Man, Ryerson University took over ownership and began work on the Ryerson Student Learning Centre in 2009. The building was designed by Snøhetta and Zeidler Partnership Architects, and was completed in 2015. The building is an example of Contemporary architecture, which has no single distinct style. Contemporary architecture is known for its variable designs, from postmodern styles to more expressionist, abstract forms.
