Description
Constructed in the High Victorian style, The Great Hall was designed by Gordon & Helliwell and completed in 1889. The four-storey red-brick building served many purposes over the years but was originally built for the YCMA. In 1912, the Royal Templars of Temperance purchased and renovated the building. This fraternal organization promoted the prohibition of alcohol, but also offered life and disability insurance at a reasonable cost to its members. T
