Heritage Toronto appreciation event, Don Jail rotunda, Toronto, December 14, 2016.
Description
The Don Jail is one of Toronto's most important mid-19th-century public buildings. Closed in 1977, it now serves as the administrative offices for Bridgepoint Active Healthcare, after a massive restoration project which won the 2016 Built Heritage Award.
The rotunda, pictured here, features a glass floor and snake and serpent brackets supporting walkways.
It was also the location for Heritage Toronto's year end appreciation event, held to thank supporters and volunteers.
