Description
This Art Deco inspired building was originally designed for the Consumers Gas Company, who used it as their North Toronto showroom beginning in 1931. In 2014, restoration of the building was commissioned by Edgecombe Realty, who received an honourable mention at the 2016 Heritage Toronto Awards.
Its street-facing façades incorporate the use of innovative materials, such as Tyndall stone from Manitoba and the cast aluminum used in sculptural features, both seen in this detail.
