Description
When the British crown realized that the Toronto Purchase of 1787 was incomplete and missing adequate information about the purchase of land in what is now Toronto from the Mississaugas of the Credit, they sought to secure a more formal and official document detailing the transaction. This resulted in further details being added in 1805 to the Toronto Purchase Treaty (Treaty No. 13). This included a sum of 10 shillings being paid to the Mississaugas of the Credit for the total 250,830 acres of land. The Mississaugas reserved the right to fish on the Etobicoke River.
