Description
This map details the location of various businesses in the Junction Triangle, including the Glidden paint factory which is located on Wallace Avenue, directly beside the Wallace Avenue Pedestrian Bridge. On the map, the area just beside the railway tracks reads, "Glidden Varnish Co.", and various buildings are specified including: "manufacturing", "tank room", "fitter room", "packaging and shipping", and "copper shop". This map is a fire insurance map - part of a larger project on behalf of companies like Charles E. Goad Co. and the American, Sandborn Co., to detail every individual building in every major city in North America for the purpose of allowing insurance companies to more easily assess the damage caused by any fires that occurred.
