Description
When the City of Toronto announced that multiple subways were to be built along Bloor Street West and Dupont Avenue, residents of the Junction Triangle were delighted. Not only would there be less fatalities and injuries in creating underpasses for pedestrians, eliminating the need to cross several railways along Bloor Street, but there was also the opportunity for streetcar transit to be introduced between Dundas Street West and Lansdowne, connecting the Junction Triangle and the rest of the west end to downtown. The subways were complete in 1925 after numerous years of prior deliberation and legal complications.
