Description
This scene at Evergreen Brick Works is from the Weston Family Quarry Garden, a showcase for a rehabilitated wetlands environment. This tour stop was featured on our exploration of the Rosedale Ravine in 2018. The walk also explored the Vale of Avoca, created 10,000 years ago from run-off as glaciers retreated. Toronto's ravines are important to the city's flood mitigation and management, and are home to a great diversity of wildlife right in the heart of the city.
