Description
The Clarion newspaper, December 1946. In 1941, Carrie Best, the founder of the newspaper, was removed from the Roseland Theatre for trying to sit in a whites-only section and unsuccessfully sued. The Clarion championed Desmond’s appeal to the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia.
