Description
The stretch along Bloor Street between Dundas Street West and Lansdowne Avenue was known as the "Half-Mile Gap" before the construction of a subway system in 1925. It was also known as Bloor's "death-trap", given the dangerous nature of the busy road, which was intersected by railway and pedestrian crossings.
