Description

Rap's Restaurant on Eglinton Avenue West is a Toronto food staple for authentic and affordable Jamaican cuisine. Horace 'Raps' Rose opened the restaurant to feed mostly musicians who worked gigs til late. But for the last 40 years, he has served people from all walks of life on this sidewalk. RAP'S stays open until 5am on some nights, serving jerk chicken from their signature steel drum barbecue all night long. Horace's wife Carole is the heart of the operation today but she started out working the counter part-time to make money.
