Description
Toronto General Hospital is the oldest hospital in the city. Over its history, the hospital has had several locations, including this building on College Street, which opened in 1913. When the new hospital building opened, it featured 670 beds (520 public and 150 private). The hospital's needs eventually outgrew this location and Toronto General sold the building to the MaRS Discovery District in 2002. At that time, the Toronto General moved south to a new building on Elizabeth Street.
