Description

Named after Wallace Millichamp, the businessman who commissioned its construction, this building was designed by Smith & Gemmell in 1874. Millichamp was the owner of a showcase manufacturing business, which had offices here until the 1890s. This building later became a branch of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce for more than 50 years. This property was one of several that established Toronto Street as a financial hub in the late 19th century. The Millichamp Building has been connected to the Excelsior Life Building via a glass atrium since 1987.
