"The Terracotta House," Heritage Property Plaque, 2019.
Description
1906. Built by John S. Turner and his sons, the previous house on this site was clad entirely in terracotta tiles, a whimsical reuse of a decorative material popular in the Victorian era. Over time, the tiles of various shapes and sizes began falling off the building and it had to be demolished. Salvaged tiles were installed on the current house in 2018.
