Description
This large detached home was built for William Ince (1826–1905), a partner in a major wholesale grocery business, Perkins, Ince & Co., located on Front Street East. The architecture firm Darling, Curry, Sproatt & Pearson designed the house in the popular Queen Anne style when the Annex was developing as a wealthy suburb. The house has Dutch gables, bay windows, and a porch with Ionic columns. The property became a Phi Chi fraternity chapter house in 1928 and later a rest home. Alpha Delta Phi fraternity moved here in 1966.
