Description
Artist Anne Mirvish (1919-2013), circa 1970. Born Anne Macklin, Anne Mirvish married "Honest" Ed Mirvish in 1941. She became a prominent community figure who spearheaded the creation of Mirvish Village artists' enclave on Markham Street in the 1960s where she maintained a studio for many decades. Mirvish's work evolved from portraits of politicians and well-known people and ended in abstraction, culminating in "Annie’s Recipes", a series of metal sculptures.
