Description
Tour members learn about the history of SickKids Hospital. In 1874, Elizabeth McMaster organized a Ladies Committee to raise funds for a hospital dedicated specifically for helping children who were ill. Originally a two-storey house with six cots and no running water, the hospital moved to University Ave. in 1951, and is now known for its groundbreaking pediatric research and its exceptional quality of healthcare.
