Bill Haley and the Comets, Maple Leaf Gardens, 1956. City of Toronto Archives, Fonds 1257, Series 1057, Item 7214.
Description
In 1956, Maple Leaf Gardens hosted a concert unlike any other. “The Biggest Show of ’56” featured eleven rock and roll legends performing on the same stage, including Bill Haley and His Comets (pictured) as well as Chuck Berry. It was among the first large-scale rock concerts in Toronto, showing how popular the music had become during the 1950s.
