Description
Staff welcome participants to the Likkle Heritage Treasure Hunt, a scavenger hunt offered with the support of the Equity Heritage Initiative and in partnership with the Black Business and Professional Association.
The event celebrated the cultural heritage of Toronto's Little Jamaica, an important hub for music, language, business, and food. Recently, the pandemic and transit construction have disconnected the neighbourhood from the wider Toronto community.
Working in teams, event attendees were encouraged through an interactive game to learn about the area's Black history, support its businesses, and reconnect with the people, arts and culture of the neighbourhood.
For this very friendly challenge, participants tasted delicious Jamaican and Caribbean cuisine, listened for clues in the groove of the reggae tunes, and tried their skills at Black hair care, all while tackling trivia questions for prizes.
