Description
In 1947, the Colonial Tavern hosted popular dance band Cy McLean and the Rhythm Rompers. Born and raised in Nova Scotia, McLean became an in-demand pianist on Yonge Street during the 1940s. He was also the first Black member of the Toronto Musicians’ Association.
