Humber - market gardens - George Harris Jr., June 20, 1922

Description

George Harris Jr.’s market garden at the corner
of what is now Berry Road and Stephen Drive,
1922. Working after school, on Saturdays, and
during the summer holidays, children could earn
50 to 75 cents a day weeding rows of produce
in the 1920s and 1930s (the equivalent of $9 to
$13.50 in 2024).
