Description

Members on a behind-the-scenes tour of Black Creek Pioneer Village enjoy a demonstration of separating grain from straw in Daniel Stong's Barn. Dating to 1825, the barn remains in its original location. With both Pennsylvania German and English influences in its construction, it is a single storey, with double cribs or mows for grain storage. The barn has a large threshing floor in the centre that was used for threshing and winnowing.
