Description
Tour participants at the base of a large monument learn about the Chinese Railway Workers Memorial, built by Eldon Garnet and unveiled in 1989, which depicts the danger of railway work. The memorial commemorates the work of thousands of Chinese individuals who helped to build Canada’s railways and the 700 Chinese railway workers who lost their lives during the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway.
