Description
The menu at Allen’s features three curries - shrimp, butter chicken, and vegetable. Sri Lankan cuisine is unique in the way that it blends native ingredients with South Indian and colonial Portuguese, Dutch, and British influences. This unique flavour palate is often cited as the reason why Sri Lankan Tamil cooks are adept at adapting to other cuisines, as their own home cooked meals are a blend of flavours. Still, it is rare for Tamil chefs to be allowed to share their own recipes unless the restaurant focuses solely on Tamil food.
