Description
The village of Yorkville was incorporated in 1853, and was later annexed into the City of Toronto in 1883. Once a quiet working- and middle-class neighbourhood, it became a thriving arts community by the 1950s and famous for its “hippie” community and music scene by the late 1960s. More recently, it’s been known for its high-end restaurants and boutique shopping, making it one of the most expensive neighbourhoods in the city.
