Description
Tour members stand in front of the entrance to the Galbraith Building,. Across the street one can see the Bahen Centre for Information Technology. This was among the final stops on the Campus and Cosmos tour, in which participants learned about the study of astronomy at the University of Toronto, including the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics, located at 50 St. George St. out of view. The DAA, founded 1905, is one of the foremost astronomy departments in the world. It is especially known for its research in observational cosmology, and in the formation and evolution of stars and planets.
