Description
Prior to the redevelopment of the area in the 1960s and 1970s, Wellesley Street East featured a collection of homes and shops. In the 1970s, the buildings along the north side of the street (seen at left in the photo) were demolished to make way for high-rise apartment complexes of the St. James Town neighbourhood. Today, the building at 200 Wellesley Street East stands slightly to the left of where B.W. Lewis Drugs can be seen in this 1948 photo.
