Description
During the early 20th century, Central Neighbourhood House offered programs to support immigrants of The Ward and to improve the conditions of the neighbourhood. The house was to provide immigrants with education, recreation and cultural activities, including English language classes and introduction to hygiene, health care and appropriate civic behaviour. Mothercraft programs, like the one seen here, assisted and supported mothers.
