Description
Hester How Public School was built in 1912 on the site of the former Elizabeth Street School. It was named after the woman who established a class for boys from the Ward in 1881. How was also an enthusiastic philanthropist who began many social programs aimed at educating women and children, and promoted various forms of social reform.
