Description
The Glidden Paint company was formed in 1875 by a group of American businessmen, one of whom was named Francis Harrington Glidden. Glidden, along with two others, established a varnish-making company called Glidden, Brackett & Co., based out of Cleveland, Ohio. In 1894, the company changed its name to the Glidden Varnish Company and grew to become the United States' third largest paint producer.
