West End Y.M.C.A. Heritage Property Plaque, 2016
Description
Constructed in the High Victorian style, the Great Hall was designed by Gordon & Helliwell and completed in 1889. The four-storey red-brick building served many purposes over the years but was originally built for the YCMA. Commissioned by Triangle Development, restorations were undertaken on the whole building in 2016. The restoration project received a Heritage Toronto Architectural Conservation and Craftsmanship Award nomination in 2017.
