Description
Tour group gathers at the location of a former Church-Wellesley Village landmark.
Throughout the 1980s and 90s, The Steps was one of Toronto’s most notorious cruising spots. Located in front of a Second Cup franchise, drag queens, men, women, hustlers and everyone in between would sit on these steps, share a cup of coffee, smoke, and check out other people as they walked past, running errands, heading out to the clubs, or… simply walking home from work.
Across the street, you can see Glad Day Bookshop, the oldest surviving gay book store in North America and Canada's first gay community bookstore.
